Windalier Design 1615
I snapped these shots over 10 years ago up in Maine. Windalier is a great old classic boat, built by Abeking & Rasmussen of Germany and launched in 1962. She is framed in white oak, double planked with mahogany over cedar and uses silicon bronze for fasteners. She has fore and aft centerboards.
She was completely updated and restored around the time of these images. This included the installation of a carbon fiber main mast and an increase in rig height.
This is the best we can do for a sailing shot, taken onboard!
Note this proper lee board - folds under the cushion when not in use and its taper adds a nice bolster to the cushion.
This detail is of her main (forward) centerboard lanyard being led to the cockpit and a winch.
Here are the plans.
